AAP running away from battlefield, not capable of facing challenges: Akhilesh Yadav

Reactiong to Delhi Chief Minster Arvind Kejriwal's threat to resign from his post if the Jan Lokpal Bill was not passed, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minster Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) just wanted to run away from the battlefield as they were not capable of facing the challenges.

"The AAP does not want to run the government and are not able to deal with the challenges. They want to run away from the battlefield," said Yadav.

"They need to face the highs and lows that comes in politics. When they have bought up the issues of the common man they have to accept the challenges that come along in dealing with them,' he said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that Kejriwal had no exit route.

"Arvind Kejriwal has fallen in his own trap and there is no exit route. Jan Lokpal Bill is nothing more than Jokepal now," said Naqvi.

Kejriwal had on Sunday said that he would resign from the Chief Ministership of Delhi if the Jan Lokpal Bill is not passed in the Delhi Assembly.

"If the bill is not passed then I have no wish to continue as the chief minister. I can sacrifice the chair of a chief minister 100 times to wipe out corruption from this country. To establish Swaraj in the country I can sacrifice the chair 1000 times. I haven't come here to become a chief minister; I have come here to clean corruption from this country," Kejriwal had said.
