The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) wants to enjoy the 'fruits' of being in power over the issue of salary hike of its MLAs.

"AAP now perhaps wants to enjoy the fruits of being in power. They need to answer as to what they have done for the common man. Why do they present themselves as an alternative force?" said BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli.

A delegation of 20 AAP legislators had yesterday met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanding a hike in their salaries.

According to reports, the MLAs have cited problems in meeting expenses that include the cost of maintaining an office in their constituencies, transportation and running a household.
