Abhishek Bachchan recently inaugurated a basketball court at a school in Mumbai stressing on the need to make sports a part of educational curriculum.
The 38-year old actor has been championing the importance of sports ever since he co-owned a football team, Chennaiyin FC, and a western Jaipur city based pro-league Kabaddi team, 'Jaipur Pink Panthers', which also won the inaugural tournament.
Bachchan talked about his love for basketball which he played as a former student of the same school and said that sports could be a viable career option.
"I think it is very important that sports become part of every child's curriculum. I have always given sports all the credit for character building that I have had in my life. It is an integral part of everybody's life and through Kabaddi and Football, we have tried to prove that sports are very viable career option."
"Through facilities like this, where you go and help children have more interest in sports. I think, sports are a fantastic outlook for children not only for exercise but for character building. So definitely, it should be part of the curriculum," he added.
