The lawyer of the photographer Sheng Sheng Li, who was accused of assaulting Lara Bingle, has claimed that the model lied about getting kicked in the leg.
The lawyer said on Kiis FM that the model lied because she "wasn't getting paid" for the photos and her accusation made "no sense" at all, News.com.au reported.
Defense lawyer Ronald Kuby said that the video he has obtained thus far indicates that Li was photographing Bingle from a distance, who got upset about it and walked up to him, tried to grab his camera.
Kuby said that the 26-year-model then motioned her boyfriend Sam Worthington claiming that she had been kicked in the shins, after which the 'Avatar' star punched the photographer.
The lawyer said that video shows Bingle walking over again and striking Li repeatedly to grab the camera as Worthington just tries to get out of there and grab a cab.
Li was charged with assault, harassment and reckless endangerment after the altercation while Worthington was charged with assault.
