Social activist Annie Raja on Friday condemned Karnataka Home Minister K.J. George's remark that a rape done by two men does not constitute a gang rape.
"People like him are responsible for violence and such crimes in the country. He is the home minister who is responsible for law and order situation but he is diverting the attention," Raja told ANI.
She also said that the government should show the political will and social commitment instead of giving bizarre remarks.
The Karnataka Home Minister had earlier said that he does not consider a rape as 'gang-rape' unless more than two people are involved.
"How is it a gang-rape if two people rape? Shouldn't there be at least three or four people for it to be called gang rape?" George said in his reply while commenting on the alleged sexual assault of a BPO employee by two men in a tempo traveller.
