Cornering Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over his 'Indonesia-Ramleela' statement, Babri Masjid Action Committee convenor Zafaryab Jilani on Wednesday said the former is not the Chief Minister of only Ram Bhakts.

"The Chief Minister is not only the Chief Minister of those who are Ram Bhakts. Muslims do not believe in Ram as they believe in oneness of God. He is the leader of the majority party and has taken oath to be equal towards everyone. This shows he is not abiding by his oath," Jilani told ANI.

The Chief Minister on Wednesday said that even as Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world, 'Ramleela' is their national festival.

"Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world and 'Ramleela' is their national festival," Adityanath said, while addressing a rally in Ayodhya.

Adityanath's statement came in the backdrop of the Ram Mandir issue, which he said could only be resolved through peaceful talks.

"All the stakeholders must follow the Supreme Court's decision on the issue and find a friendly and peaceful manner for resolving the matter," he added.

The Chief Minister further said that Ramleela is well-known in India and the entire country watches it every year with great devotion adding that every religion has respect for Lord Ram.
