Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday met his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan here.
President Ghani was also accorded a ceremonial reception here.
Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had called on President Ghani here before the delegation-level talks between both sides.
Ghani is presently in New Delhi on a three-day visit and will have bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.
Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari would also call on the Afghan President at 4 p.m.
Ghani will also address captains of Indian industry during his visit.
India and Afghanistan have a strong relationship based on historical and cultural links. The relationship is not limited to the government level only.
Both nations have strengthened ties through a strategic partnership agreement inked in 2011.
