Pakistan player Shahid Afridi has said that he would take an active part in all activities of the Punjab Government for the welfare of deserving and needy children, and dedicate all his energies for the welfare of such persons.
According to The Daily Times, Afridi called on Punjab Governor Muhammad Sarwar and felicitated him on his appointment as Punjab Governor in a meeting at the Governor's House here on Sunday.
The Punjab Governor said doors of the Governor's House were always open to poor and deprived persons and the government wanted to help them economically, the report said.
He said that celebrities like Afridi could play a vital role in inspiring children to attend school, the report added.
