A lawmaker of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday sarcastically described the opposition National Conference (NC) as a "multifaceted" entity that was hand-in-glove with the Congress in facilitating the hanging of Afzal Guru, and therefore, it comes as a surprise that the latter was now demanding that his mortal remains be returned to his family as had been done in the case of Yakub Memon.
People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abhijit Jasrotia told ANI, "Talking about National Conference, I always say them as a multifaceted party. At that time, when Afzal Guru was hanged out of his turn, National Conference was hand in glove with Congress. At that time they didn't realise that his body should be handed over and now, all of a sudden something clicks their minds and they start talking on this line."
"This shows multifaceted attitude of the National Conference. So I don't believe their words, whatever they are saying," he added.

"Now, that Congress is out of the power, they (NC) are just making issues of the things. But talking about the stand of my party PDP, at that time also we stood for the same thing that his remains should be handed over to his family, as per the rules and other things also. So, we still stand by same thing," he pointed out.
