Teenaged Australian spinner Ashton Agar has said that he is planning to win back his Test place with the help of advice from spin legend Shane Warne following his record debut during the recent Ashes series.
According to Sport24, the 19-year-old, who created history with his quick-fire 98 batting at No 11 on his Test debut in the Ashes opener against England at Trent Bridge in July, also played in Australia's colossal 347-run second Test defeat at Lord's.
However, the report said that Agar was left out of the team that drew the third Test at Old Trafford and did not feature again in the series after he took just two wickets in all at a very expensive average of 124.
Stating that he was able to learn a lot from his idol Warne, Agar said that Warne advised him about game sense, tactical moves and everything that comes with spin bowling, adding that he is aware that he has some technical issues to iron out if he is to challenge Nathan Lyon as Australia's leading spinner.
Agar also said that Warne accompanied his skill with his great tactical mind and theatrical side.
Backing Agar, Western Australia coach Justin Langer said that the player has learned a valuable lesson after his axing in England, adding that he will come out in an improved form from his experience as he is a 'smart guy'.
The first of five Tests in the return Ashes series starts in Brisbane on November 21, the report added.
