Tamil Nadu Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao on Thursday appointed Edappadi K. Palaniswami as the state next chief minister.
AIADMK member S. Semmalai said, "Now, we will go back to our party supporters and discuss who will lead the party next."
The governor has requested the chief minister-designate to seek a vote confidence of the assembly within 15 days.
K. Pandiarajan who is also a supporter of AIADMK said, "Many MLAs will support only Amma's rule and not rule of a family".
Mr. Palaniswami has retained the Home, Finance and Public Works portfolios for himself, and Mr. Pandiarajan's portfolio has now been handed over to K.A. Sengottaiyan.
