Airbnb moves to building homes with 'Backyard'

Airbnb has introduced a new product called 'Backyard' which will provide people with prototypes of different styles of pre-fabricated homes.

These pre-fabricated homes could be installed in people's backyards or be freestanding houses. They will be constructed in a manner to minimize waste and maximize eco-friendly building, Cnet reported.

It is not clear as to when the project will be commercialised. However, the lodging company is building a team of architects, designers, and engineers to work on the project. Some of the prototype units are expected to be showcased by fall 2019.
