The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday described Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sakshi Maharaj and Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan as two sides of the same coin.

"There is no difference between Sakshi Maharaj and Azam Khan. They are two sides of the same coin," NCP leader Tariq Anwar told ANI.

Sakshi Maharaj had earlier said Azam Khan was a supporter of terrorists.

"Be it the issue of Tipu Sultan or the Paris attacks, Azam Khan makes statements which give the impression that he is supporting terrorists."

Khan condemned the Paris carnage but in the same breath appeared to blame the United States, Russia for killing innocents in the Middle East and West Asia and the justifying such attacks.

He also rejected what he called a media concocted story that the Paris terror mayhem last Friday was a "reaction to the killing of innocents in Arab countries by the superpowers."

The Congress and the BJP have called for Azam Khan's sacking from the Uttar Pradesh Government, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said there is no question of him doing so.
