Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday for creating communal environment, to garner votes in the state.
Yadav was speaking while addressing a rally in Hardoi district.
The rally was held ahead of elections to discuss and put forward the strategies for the elections.
"They (Bharatiya Janata Party) want to create communal environment in Uttar Pradesh. They know they cannot get votes in the name of development. The Bharatiya Janata Party members asked to compare the development of Gujarat. We highlighted them our development plans, they backed out. We consume more amount of electricity than they do but our Uttar Pradesh is bigger," said Akhilesh Yadav.
Meanwhile, the state chief lauded the achievements of his party, portraying a strong sense of victory in the upcoming polls.
"Samajwadi Party (SP) has worked the most to return the people's money through their programmes. The upcoming general assembly elections will decide the fate of nation's politics and we, the Samajwadi Party people would not get a better chance than this. Naresh Agarwal (senior leader of SP) knows whether it is Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha, all the political parties know that it is Uttar Pradesh who would decide," he added.
