Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday described the Gorakhdham train accident as unfortunate, and assured that the state government is extending all possible help to the injured.
Yadav also said that ambulances have been sent to the accident site and ministers will soon be visiting the place too.
The Gorakhdham Express today rammed into a stationary goods train in Uttar Pradesh crushing the train's first three bogies and derailing six others.
At least 40 people are feared dead in the train accident which occurred on the eve of Narendra Modi taking charge as the Prime Minister. Modi, too, expressed his condolences for the victims of the train accident.
Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, however, is currently in New Delhi to attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony today.
