Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said that he does not think the Pakistan Cricket Board had any justification now for retaining Misbah-ul-Haq as captain of the national ODI team.
According to The Daily Times, Akhtar said Misbah had introduced a defensive environment and culture in the team and there was need for changes in the management.
He said the players were only worried about getting into the team and then about earning money and not playing for personal and national pride, according to the report.
Meanwhile, former captain Rashid Latif said he felt there were groupings taking place in the national team that had been creating problems, the report mentioned.
He said that the PCB should not interfere in selection matters and must not encourage any type of such environment in the team, the report added.
