Al Qaeda becoming envious of IS hogging limelight: Expert

The Al Qaeda group that carried out the dastardly 9/11 attacks, is increasingly becoming jealous about the success of the terrorist outfit Islamic State (IS), according to an expert.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has reportedly called upon the jihadists to launch deadly attacks in one of its latest publication reportedly produced this week.

Praising Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who carried out 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, the online magazine also suggested US targets for "lone-wolf" attacks such as New York City's Times Square and popular Las Vegas casinos and nightclubs, reported the Daily Express.

Recently, the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) raised the terror threat to severe - the second-highest level in UK. This comes after threat of attack perceived by the security experts who fear that at least 250 home-grown jihadists could wage holy war on Britain's streets.

Reports also indicate that close to 1,000 odd British nationals are believed to have travelled to Syria and Iraq to join the IS.
