After beating actors, including Miles Teller and Ansel Elgort and Kingsman, Alden Ehrenreich has bagged the role of Han Solo for a 'Star Wars' spin-off.
According to a source, the 26-year-old actor has been roped in to play the iconic role in the new movie, slated for 2018, which will focus on Solo before he joined the Rebel Alliance, News.com.au reports.
An insider revealed that the 'Beautiful Creatures' actor's screen tests has really impressed Disney and Lucasfilm execs and therefore, the deal is almost done.
The Han Solo spin-off is being produced and scripted by Lawrence Kasdan, who co-wrote 'The Empire Strikes Back', 'Return of the Jed'i and 'The Force Awakens,', with his son Jon Kasdan..
The upcoming project is likely to be set between Episode III and Episode IV.
