Italian footballer Alessandro Del Piero may reportedly continue his playing career in the United States after leaving Sydney FC last week as he has emerged as the number one transfer target of Major League Soccer (MLS) club Los Angeles Galaxy.
Del Piero, who is currently in Los Angeles with his family on holiday, has expressed interest in playing in the United States for some time and also regularly visits Los Angeles for holidays during the off-season.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the former Juventus captain is not yet interested in retiring or coaching and is eager to continue playing and he is also said to be in discussions with Washington-based club DC United with the move being facilitated by Indonesian businessman owner Erick Thorir, who became the majority shareholder of Inter Milan six months ago.
However, the report said that a potential move to the MLS could jeopardise Del Piero's participation in the August 10 A-League All Stars match despite being contracted for the match by the Football Federation of Australia to captain the All Stars in his first-ever match against Juventus.
