Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday assured the Rajya Sabha that all efforts will be taken to make Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) profitable.

He was responding to a query by Naresh Agarwal of the Samajwadi Party during the Zero Hour.

Agarwal said the private mobile operators are not taking action against the call drops.

Responding to this, Prasad said the managements of several private cellular operators have assured the government that they would take effective steps to reduce call drops.
