The All India Industrial Exhibition society distributed Rs. 2.68 crore as compensation to the stall owners whose stalls were gutted in a fire incident on January 31.
Ranga Reddy, Secretary of All India Industrial Exhibition told ANI: "We re-opened the exhibition on February 2. All measures have been taken to prevent any untoward incident. In fire accident which occurred on January 31, around 240 to 260 stalls were gutted. As a part of compensation, we have distributed one crore to the stall owners in the first phase while in the second phase we have distributed Rs 1.68 crore so that they can start their business again."
Moreover, Reddy also informed that a request to the government to extend the exhibition till February 28 from February 15 has been sent.
