The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday removed Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) chief Anil Yadav, saying his appointment was invalid.
The High Court gave its verdict while hearing the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by advocate Satish Kumar Singh challenging Yadav's appointment as the chairman of UPPSC.
Earlier, the court had directed the state government to explain as to why Yadav was selected as the chairman of UPPSC, excluding 82 persons, whose bio-data for the same post was ignored.
Yadav was appointed as the chairman of UPPSC in April 2013.
