Brazilian footballer Daniel Alves enjoyed a mid-match snack after eating a banana thrown at him during Barcelona's 3-2 victory over Villarreal in the Spanish first division game.
According to the Mirror, Alves displayed a new way to combat racism as he picked up the banana from the floor and took a bite from it before taking a corner during Barca's clash against their La Liga rivals Villarreal.
A fan threw the banana at Alves, with the game hanging at 2-2, but instead of being offended by the fruit the Brazilian calmly picked it up and had a bite before taking a corner, the report added.
