British footie fans have another reason to jump with giant rats swarming PL stadiums

British football fans might have another reason to jump in the stands with giant rats reportedly swarming over the Premier League football stadiums.

Fans are desperately clamoring for rat-catchers to rid their clubs of the pests as UK's rat population approaches 160 million and pest controllers have said that huge rodents are teeming among the stands at Britain's top clubs because they find food and shelter there.

According to the Daily Star, Matt Phillips of Urban Pest Control said that rats are absolutely common at football stadiums as the place offers food and dark places for them to hide, adding that all the football clubs now have pest management in place, but they try to hide it from fans.

Phillips said that they put poison down at stadiums discreetly, baiting the areas where it is nice and dark.

Another pest controller David Cross from Rentokil said that rats need food, water and shelter and it is inevitable that stadiums have huge interest for the rodents.

A fan from Manchester said that he loves his team but it makes him think twice about taking his family along to watch the games, adding that he might have jumped up for more than just a goal before while watching a football match live in the stadium.
