Amitabh Bachchan gets 'super achiever of the year' award in Mumbai

Amitabh Bachchan has received the 'Super achiever of the year' award at an event by Society Magazine in Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, the 71-year-old actor congratulated the magazine for initiating such a noble cause.

"Thank you society for this accolade, the concept of this evening is just explained to me and yes I am afraid that I was very busy and could not catch up with (what) this evening was about. But what it really says is that it's going to congratulate and recognize young achievers of the country.

And I think it's a very noble cause and it's a wonderful way to express our affection and love to the youth of this country," he said.

The 'Sholay' hitmaker, who was dressed in a black tuxedo, also congratulated all the other achievers of the country.

"We all know that India possesses the largest number of youth in the world between the age of 18 to 35. And I think when we are talking about the future of the country we have to encourage youth. And I congratulate all the other achievers that have been categorized with me as youth. But I am a little to old for that now. But still thanks a lot for this," Bachchan added.
