Ammonia gas leak: Death toll revised to 5, at least 100 injured

The death toll due to the ammonia gas leak in Doraha, Ludhiana, has been revised to five, with at least 100-110 people left injured, said the police.
"The administration reached immediately and the affected people were sent to various hospitals. Around 100-110 people have been affected and as per latest update, five people have died," said Ajay Sood, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana.
The gas leak occurred late last night when the tanker got stuck under a flyover on the Doraha Bypass Road.
A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team arrived at the spot soon after the incident.
The villagers have been evacuated from the gas leak site.
