Amy Adams is in talks to star in Denis Villeneuve directed 'Story of Your Life', an adaptation of a short story by 'Nebula and Hugo' Award-winning author Ted Chiang.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, scripted by Eric Heisserer, the project is being financed and produced by FilmNation and David Linde's Lava Bear Films.
The story is set in motion when an alien craft lands around the world, and Adam - an expert linguist - is recruited by the military to determine whether they come in peace or are a threat. As she learns to communicate with the aliens, she begins experiencing vivid flashbacks that become the key to unlocking the greater mystery about the true purpose of their visit.
The makers are planning to start shooting for the movie next year.
