Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has said that he will fight 'tooth and nail' to keep Cristiano Ronaldo at the club to prevent Manchester United from sweeping in to buy the player.

There has been heavy speculation regarding Ronaldo's future ever since it was revealed the winger was pining for a return to Old Trafford last December.

According to The Sun, the former Paris Saint-Germain manager expressed his excitement on the prospect of working with Ronaldo and put him in the same league alongside greats like Zidane and Ronaldinho, adding that Ronaldo is central in his plans for winning a 10th Champions League for his club.

The Italian manager said Ronaldo was a fantastic player and it was a dream to work with him.

Although Real president Florentino Perez had earlier announced that Ronaldo would sign a new deal, however, the reports said that news about the Portugal star meeting United's top management to make a switch soon came to the front.

When asked about former manager Jose Mourinho, Ancelotti said that his style was totally different from his predecessor and cannot be compared with each other.

Stating that he wants to have a good relationship with the players, the Italian said that he does not think that Madrid needs a pacifier.
