England fast bowler James Anderson has reportedly extended his county cricket contract with Lancashire by one year to 2015.

Anderson, a key figure in England's Ashes success over Australia earlier this year, played his first game for Lancashire in 2002 and made his England debut the same year.

According to Sport24, Lancashire cricket director Mike Watkinson confirmed Anderson's contract extension and said that Anderson has been an outstanding player and a great ambassador for the club.

Meanwhile, Anderson expressed his pleasure over extending his Lancashire contract and said that he is always proud to wear the Lancashire shirt, adding that it felt great to return to Emirates Old Trafford in the summer for the Investec Ashes Test match and use the facilities after the ground's redevelopment.
