Reacting to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's comment on Narendra Modi and the performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recent assembly elections, BJP leader Balbir Punj said the latter statements are an outburst of his own failures and frustrations.

"Nitish Kumar is like an angry cat. His statements are an outburst of his own failures and frustrations. He stays in his own imaginative world," said Punj.

Furthermore, he said that Kumar had forgotten that it was with the support of the BJP that he had gained an important position in the Indian political landscape.

"When the Bihar elections take place, he will get to know the importance of the support of the BJP and the viewpoint of Narendra Modi," he said.

"Nitish Kumar has this misconception that he is some big shot leader who appeals a lot to the masses. He has forgotten our contribution for getting the position he is currently at," he added.

Kumar is saying all this as it has become difficult for him to digest the BJP's performance, he said.

Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar had said that the BJP will get a shock in the 2014 elections, and added that the result in Delhi represents the viewpoint of the whole country.

He also rubbished the BJP claims of there being a wave in favour of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and praised the Aam Aadmi Party, which emerged as second largest party in Delhi, saying, "The people voted for the AAP because they wanted a third alternative in Delhi.
