The animal rights activist on Tuesday described the man throwing a dog from a rooftop as a "Psychopath" and a "Social Problem" and demanded that he be put behind bars for such heinous act.

Animal Rights Activist Gauri Mulekhi said the act shows that the person is mentally ill and has a tendency to attack the weak and defenceless.

"We need to change the mindset. It is not about an animal, it shows that the man mentally ill. Today he is showing violence against an animal, later he might target kids and women. There is a tendency of violence," she told ANI.

Mulekhi said research also shows that hardened criminals and serial killers begin with such acts.

"Even our government is encouraging such things as the fine for such acts is just Rs. 50. This person has sadistic tendencies, what will he do after becoming a doctor. This man should be behind bars he is a social problem," she added.

Earlier, a horrific video of a man, who is said to be a medical student, throwing a dog from a roof went viral, generating a outcry of disgust and horror. Apparently, the video was shot in Chennai.

In a disturbing video, the man is seen holding a dog by the neck, balancing him on the edge of the roof. The man then goes on to mercilessly drop the dog. The video ends with the sound of the dog crying in pain.

The video even shows the falling of the dog in slow-motion, which indicates the level of insensitivity on part of the man.
