In another dungeon horror revelation reminiscent to the infamous Fritzl dungeon dad episode, eight people were held captive at a north Houston house for years.
According to the police, in what's described as a "prison room,"one man was possibly kept against his will for a decade, CNN reported.
Police freed four men from the home in north Houston where they were held for years in a scheme to defraud them out of welfare and veterans benefit checks.
Police found the men, including at least one military veteran, living in "deplorable conditions" on Friday after responding to a 911 call phoned in by a neighbor.
The men said that they were lured into the garage by promises of food and cigarettes, the New York Daily News reported.
They were forced to live in the garage, making do with just one chair, no bed and a suspected malfunctioning air conditioner, the men told cops.
Investigators are still trying to determine how long the men were living in captivity, but say it may have been weeks.
Four women were also found living in the home adjoining the garage.
Three women appeared to have mental disabilities and a fourth woman was described as their caretaker.
