Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced on Saturday that the state cabinet has decided to supply 70 litres per capita daily (LPCD) water to every household in all the villages of the state.
"The cabinet decided to supply 70 LPCD water to every household in all villages. As of now, water is fully given to 45% villages. According to the new policy, a drinking water supply corporation will be set up. In three years, all houses will be given water. For this, 22,000 crores are needed. The project will be taken up with the support of various banks," said Naidu.
"Technology will also be efficiently used. Quality work will be done through outsourcing. Atleast seven reservoirs will be built in every district so that water supply is stabilised. In every village with a population more than 5000, underground drainages will be built. In villages with population 2000 to 5000, drains will be built. With much less populated villages, double pits will be provided," added Naidu.
Naidu further said cabinet has approved the construction of Bhavanapadu port and development of Greenfield airport at Bhogapuram.
"Cabinet approved for Bhavanapadu port construction in PPP, with Adani group. Greenfield airport will be developed at Bhogapuram.
Lulu group will construct convention centre and shopping mall in Visakhapatnam. Foundation will be laid on 26 February," said Naidu.
Naidu also said the drug control department would be strengthened and its foundation would be laid on February 26.
"Cabinet approved 2018-20 cloud hub policy. With it, AP should be the cloud hub for artificial intelligence. Companies which will come forward be given all kinds of incentives. We gave subsidies to Franklin Templeton company. In Visakhapatnam, that company will be generating 5000 jobs," said Naidu.
Naidu further made an announcement that Ongole IIIT will be named after Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
Eighteen lakh houses will be completed by January 2019. Massive housewarming ceremonies will be conducted phase wise, said Naidu.
