Apple Store's sales reportedly surged 50 percent in 2014, recording total sales of around 15 billion dollars.

According to The Verge, the company says that billings rose 50 percent in 2014 with developers taking more than 10 billion dollars in revenue from apps and in-app purchases throughout the year.

The app store sales amounted to nearly half a billion dollars in the first seven days of January, thereby breaking two more records, including the single biggest day ever on New Year's Day, and its best week ever.
