The latest Apple iPhone 5S has reportedly been a hit in the Chinese market, which accounted for 12 percent of sales in October, new study has revealed.

CounterPoint Research pointed that the sales boost in China propelled the iPhone 5S to be the best-selling phone worldwide during that period.

According to the Guardian, the statistics comes before China Mobile deal, the world's largest carrier, which has begun taking preorders for the phone this week, ahead of an official announcement of a 4G network next week.

Data from another analytics company Mixpanel suggests that the hi-tech smartphone with a fingerprint scanner makes up 10 percent of all iPhones in use and the iOS7 has been adopted faster than its predecessor iOS6.

Researcher at Counterpoint, Tom Kang said that although the iPhone 5S was more successful compared to what iPhone 5, released in 2012, registered in terms of overall sales in a month.

The report added that Apple's share of sales has increased drastically in China since the iPhone 5S was introduced

Kang further said that having iPhone 5S on China Mobile, it will for sure ignite a 'price war' boosting the device's overall sales in China and might allow Apple to even reach the No. 1 smartphone player in December or January in China, the report added.
