Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, who met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday to review the security situation in Assam, said that operations would be intensified in the state.
"It was to review the security situation in Assam. It will not be correct on my part to give any further details. Our 66 columns are operating there. We are definitely going to intensify the operations," said Suhag.

Rajnath Singh had earlier on Thursday confirmed that operations will be launched against the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit group) after they killed over 70 people in the Sonitpur, Kokrajhar and Chirang districts of Assam.
He had also held a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and other senior state officials on Wednesday, and assured that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will probe the case thoroughly.
