Bayern Munich's Brazilian international Luiz Gustavo may be signed by Arsenal in a 14 million pound deal, as the Gunners move ahead of Chelsea and Wolfsburg in the race to sign the 26-year old.
According to the Mirror, Gustavo, who has already been capped 10 times by Brazil and played in their Confederations Cup triumph earlier this summer, is expected to seal a deal before next week's Premier League opener against Aston Villa at the Emirates.
However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said that there was nothing concrete at the moment but thought that they were a little bit thin squad-wise, while adding that the club had not given up hope on Suarez too.
The manager said that he is an optimist and the fact that the squad was together for the first time in many years made him happy.
