Chilean footballer Arturo Vidal has been arrested by the police on charge of drunken driving after he crashed his Ferrari in Santiago on Tuesday.

The Juventus forward, who was rushed to the hospital after enduring minor injuries in the crash, would face a local judge on Wednesday.

Police colonel Ricardo Gonzalez revealed that the driver of the red vehicle was under the influence of alcohol, the BBC reported.

Vidal is leading the goal-scoring charts of the ongoing Copa America.
