Defence Minister Arun Jaitley today began a security review meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Chief of the Army Staff, General Bikram Singh.
Before the meeting started, CM Abdullah had appreciated "Jaitley for choosing to visit the regions of the state."
Abdullah had said, "We do hope that your visit will be one that we will all benefit from."
Omar Abdullah also stated "There were some areas where Jaitley's role as a Finance Minister will be very beneficial to the forces operating here."
He said, "We have added advantage that you come wearing two hats, and therefore please excuse us if sometimes we stray from briefing you or talking to you as a Defence Minister and steer towards your Finance Minister responsibility as well."
The visit comes just two days after the ceasefire violations were reported along the Line of Control (LOC) from the Pakistan side.
