On the order of the Supreme Court, the Kokrajhar Police with the permission of the Kokrajhar High Court on Tuesday burnt and destroyed at least 40 quintal tobacco, 800 kg of Ganja, 1,400 bottles of phensedyl and 465 kg of intoxicants in premises of former MLA Pradip Kumar Bramhho.
In the presence of Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajen Singh, all the drugs were destroyed.
"In these cases, around 40 quintal tobacco, 800 kg Ganja, 1,400 bottle phensedyl and 465 kg of intoxication tablets were seized. According to the order of the Supreme Court, it was ruined today by the Drugs Disposable Committee. The Kokrajhar Police along with the members of Drugs Disposable Committee were present there," Singh said.
Further investigation is underway.
