Assam Police recover IED, other ammunition from Goalpara

Acting on a tip off, Assam Police recently recovered six IEDs buried under the ground in Hatigaon in the state's Dhubri District.

Three bullets of AK-47, eight detonators, one magazine, three batteries and a box of ball bearings were also recovered from the same site.

The location of the ammunition was reportedly given by Simanta Rava alias Daikon, who was detained by the security forces on January 22.

It is being suspected that the ammunition was brought from Bangladesh to trigger an explosion in Goalpara and Guwahati.

Investigations are still on to know more from Simanta.
