Assam to get Rs. 25 crores to improve road infrastructure

Centre will invest Rs. 25 thousand crores for developing road infrastructure in Assam, said Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, today, at a public meeting in Dhakuakhana.

The Union Minister, who laid foundation stone of road and bridge connecting the river island Majuli, said that steps are being taken to develop the Brahmaputra as waterways.

He said that in the coming year, one-and-a-half lakh local workers would be employed in road construction work.

Gadkari earlier in day laid foundation stone of four laning of the four packages of NH-37 at Moran in Dibrugarh.
