Aston Villa produced a resilient performance on Sunday night as they came from behind to beat Liverpool 2-1 to set up a FA Cup final against title holders Arsenal.
Attacking midfielder Phillipe Coutinho put Liverpool ahead in the 30th minute but the dangerous Christian Benteke immediately countered back to level the score for Villa six minutes later.
Subsequently, Fabian Delph scored the winner nine minutes after the break to help Villa reach their first FA Cup final since their loss to Chelsea in 2000, the BBC reported.
The defeat also brought an end to a dream finale for veteran footballer Steven Gerrard, who will join Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy in the summer.
