At least 30 baby cobras were recovered from a house in Haryana Karnal on Sunday.

Ravindra Singla, a resident of Karnal, was in for a shock when he spotted snakelets in his bathroom one fine day. He got rid of them by seeking help from a snake charmer.

However, when more snakelets emerged the next day, it set the alarm bells ringing for Singla and he sought professional help.

"When I opened the bathroom's door, I spotted two to three snakelet. I called up a local snake charmer to capture it. The next day too, I spotted three to four snakelets and then I called up Satish. He came here and searched the area thoroughly," Singla said.

It later emerged that a female cobra had made its way to the drain pipe and laid at least 32 eggs in the bathroom.

It took at least two days for the snake expert, Satish Fafdana to sanitise the entire area.

"A female snake had entered the bathroom through a drain pipe. When we came, we saw that it had laid eggs beneath the bathroom floor. Earlier, I had captured a female snake from here, but I received another call today. So I came here and broke the bathroom floor. We recovered egg shells and began our further search on that basis. When we broke the door's frame, we recovered 30 to 32 snakelets. These are all cobras," said a snake expert, Satish Fafdana.

The female cobra with its babies was released into a nearby canal.
