At least 50 dead in bomb blast at Libyan police training centre

At least 50 people have been killed at a police training centre in Libya town of Zliten in a bomb blast in, said the town's mayor.

According to The Guardian, Miftah Lahmadi said a truck exploded at the centre as hundreds of recruits were gathering there.

Witnesses also reported dozens of casualties, some of whom were taken to hospital in the nearby city of Misrata.

United Nations special representative to Libya, Martin Kobler, condemned what he called a suicide attack.
