Atletico Madrid thrashed Almeria 3-0 to move within four points of La Liga leaders Real Madrid, thanks to Antoine Greizmann's first half brace and Mario Mandzukic's early penalty.
Mandzukic's 13th-minute spot-kick, that came after Diego Godin received a push, gave him his 20th goal of the season. He released Griezmann to side-foot in the second before heading down for the Frenchman to fire home and make it 3-0.
Atletico defender Guilherme Siqueira was sent off in the last minute, the BBC reported.
Griezmann now has scored 17 goals for the season as he and Mandzukic continue to successfully fill the void left by the departure of Diego Costa to Chelsea last summer.
With the win, Atletico have now bridged the gap on second-placed Barcelona, who lost 1-0 to Malaga earlier, to three points and trail Real by four, the report added.
