The recent gun attack on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight in Peshawar, that left a female passenger dead and two crew members injured, was reportedly the handiwork of Taliban's Tariq Geedar group.
According to Dawn, security officials said that the Tariq Geedar group of the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was based in Darra Adamkhel and was headed by one Khalfa.
An official claimed that the police had found some important leads in the attack at the Peshawar airport.
The official revealed that the militants used the roof of a school in Suliemankhel, an area near Peshawar, to target the flight as it was landing at the Bacha Khan International Airport late on Tuesday night, the report said.
The school was reportedly closed for summer vacations and the guard was also absent from the scene when the militants entered the school premises.
The report added that terrorists had apparently fixed an extra barrel to an AK-47 rifle to boost its fire range, and used tracer bullets to make sure that they hit the target.
