Australian World Orchestra to tour India with Greta Bradman

This October, celebrated Australian soprano Greta Bradman joins the Australian World Orchestra (AWO) to tour India at the invitation, and under the baton, of internationally renowned Indian conductor Maestro Zubin Mehta.

Bradman joins the AWO to perform in spectacular concerts in Mumbai, Chennai and New Delhi.

Bradman is an award winning, critically acclaimed Australian operatic and concert classical singer, and a recording artist with the prestigious Decca Classics label.

Since commencing her professional career in 2010, Bradman has performed with operas, orchestras and choirs in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the UK.

The winner of the 2013/14 Australian International Opera Award, Greta completed graduate studies at the esteemed Wales International Academy of Voice, UK. Greta's debut album for Decca Classics, "My Hero", was recorded in May 2015 with the English Chamber Orchestra and Maestro Richard Bonynge, husband of the great Dame Joan Sutherland.

Released in August 2015, "My Hero" has received rave reviews, has achieved the all time highest Australian pop-chart position for a classical recording, and has remained at no.1 on the classical chart since release.

Immediately prior to the AWO tour, Greta will present the role of Eurydice in Haydn's opera L'anima del filosofo under the baton of Bonynge, who described her voice as representing the "true old fashioned bel canto sound - the sort we only dream about today."

Bradman will join Maestro Mehta and the AWO for a thrilling program picked by Bradman that evolves city to city, featuring works such as Rossini's glorious "Una Voce Poco Fa" from The Barber of Seville, Verdi's D'amor sull'ali rosee from Il Trovatore, and Mozart's beloved "Der Holle Rache" from The Magic Flute.

Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the AWO, Alexander Briger, said, "I was blown away when I first heard Greta's phenomenal voice, as was Zubin Mehta, and we're so thrilled to have her perform with the AWO for this very special tour of India. She sings like her grandfather batted!"
