At least two people were killed and 28 others including two policemen and a journalist injured in blasts outside a suspected militant den in Shibbari area of Sylhet city on Saturday evening.
"Two civilians are killed and 28 people including two inspectors of bomb disposal unit sustained injuries in the blast," The Daily Star quoted Golam Kibria, Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, as saying.
The blast took place around 6:50 p.m. on a road beside a madrasa, around 400 metres off the five-storey "Atia Mahal" where the paramilitary commandos along with police and SWAT were conducting an operation codenamed "Twilight".
Following the blast, police asked the civilians to leave the place for safety.
However, it is yet to be ascertained that who exploded the bomb targeting the civilians there.
