Four months after the Paris attacks, another terror strike rocked the world when explosions in Brussels killed 34 people and left many wounded.
The attacks included blasts at the airport and a metro stop in central Brussel.
Soon after, hashtag #JeSuisBruxelles began to trend around the world. Notable names from Bollywood also took part with their messages of sympathy, sadness and peace.
Actress Dia Mirza took to her Twitter handle and wrote, "I pray so hard for a world that is peaceful. A world of compassion and love. United, strong and healthy. #Brussels."
Meanwhile, Preity zinta tweeted, "Heartbreaking and shocking to hear of the #BrusselsAttacks. My prayersand condolence to the families affected. RIP, the departed. #unacceptable."
Showing his support for Brussels, Hrithik Roshan wrote, "Th helplessness v feel against d terrorism will end. A new world order wil arise.Sad n infuriating. But don't loose faith. #brusselsattack."
His tweet was followed by another tweet that read, "Wen dworld instills anger in u DONT pay it forward.Take d anger ncut its head off.what's left inside u transmutate in2 love.#brusselsattack."
While, actress Alia Bhatt tweeted, "Heart goes out to those affected by the #BrusselsAttacks !!! Scary to have to witness blasts like these.. Disturbing!!#prayersforBrussels."
"When people come to believe that taking lives is a justifiable means to an end, it is humanity that has failed... #Brussels, we stand with u," Anil Kapoor wrote.
Many other celebs including Arjun Rampal, Raveen Tandon, Aditi Rao Hdari, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kapoor also used the social networking platform to raise their prayers for Brussels.
